The St. Joseph Religious Education Program comprises a community of students, catechists with their helpers, parents and clergy, united in genuine love and concern for the purpose of religious formation. The parish staff and its catechists strive to provide a safe and quality Christian environment in which the students can grow in the knowledge and practice of their faith. Nurtured by the sacraments, and inspired by the Word of God as proclaimed in Holy Scripture.
We focus our energies on achieving the threefold goals of Catholic education outlined in the Bishops' Pastoral, TO TEACH AS JESUS DID; namely, to proclaim the message of Jesus (while helping the children to develop a personal relationship with Him as their Savior and friend); to guild a Christian community enlivened by the Holy Spirit; and to explore (and practice) various concrete ways to be of service to the entire Christian community.
Our purpose as the Religious Education Staff of St. Joseph Church in Manteno is to create a protective, loving and committed Catholic-Christian community where each child's faith might become "living, conscious and active through the light of instruction." (National Catechetical Directory)
To register children for the Religious Education Program please click on the Religious Education Registration at the right column or contact Linda in the R.E. Office at 815-468-8116.
We, the family of St. Joseph Parish, redeemed by Christ’s death and resurrection and strengthened by His sacraments and Gospel, accept our calling to follow Him and let His light shine through us to all.
